Square Enix news: Kingdom Hearts 3, Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Left Alive, Avengers

Square Enix are gearing up for their first big release of 2019 – Kingdom Hearts 3 – and ahead of it have released a brand new trailer.

Kingdom Hearts 3 is out on PS4 and Xbox One on January 25 2019 and fans of the upcoming Disney RPG have been given new footage to whet their appetite.

The official YouTube channel for Kingdom Hearts 3 has posted the opening movie for the Square Enix title.

The trailer plays out to the tune of a brand new Kingdom Hearts 3 theme created by Hikaru Utada and Skrillex.

Ahead of the release of Kingdom Hearts 3 Disney Springs in Orlando, Florida will also be holding a pop-up event for the upcoming PS4 and Xbox One game.

A demo of Kingdom Hearts 3 will be playable alongside artwork on display and a Keyblade exhibit with life-size replicas from the game.

In other Square Enix news Final Fantasy 7 Remake fans have seen another big event go by without an update.

Last week The Game Awards 2018 was held where – once again – there was no word on the Final Fantasy 7 Remake.

It comes as it’s been three years since Square Enix released the last Final Fantasy 7 Remake trailer.

That trailer was shown at PSX 2015 and revealed the first gameplay footage of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake.

Elsewhere, one Final Fantasy 7 Remake fan was dealt a shock when they checked their inbox.

As revealed in a post on the FF7 Remake Reddit, the JRPG fan received an e-mail from Amazon about their pre-order of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake.

The e-mail explained that the online retailer is now expecting the Final Fantasy 7 Remake to be released on December 31 2019.

Responding to the post, one Redditor said: “Triple A games never get released on Dec. 31.

“It’s a placeholder date because they expect it to be within the year 2019. Maybe that does mean something.”

But as another Redditor explained: “In total, Amazon has listed it as it as December 31st, 2016, December 31st, 2017, and December 31st, 2018.

(It may have also at one point had a December 31st, 2015 placeholder, but I never witnessed that).

“It is pretty much a certainty that date they’ve given…is not an actual release date, but again, Amazon’s new placeholder.

“It’s fairly unlikely at this point that Amazon will be the first place to reveal FF7R’s release announcement.”

Square Enix news fans that are also looking forward to the upcoming Front Mission title Left Alive will need to put a date in the diary.

This Wednesday a live stream will take place detailing more on the Left Alive story and gameplay.

The stream will start at 11am GMT and will be broadcast on YouTube.

For those out the loop, Left Alive is an upcoming game which has Metal Gear veteran Yoji Shinkawa working on it.

So the art style and look of the title should definitely appeal to MGS fans still smarting about Konami parting ways with Hideo Kojima.

Finally, Marvel fans hoping more would be revealed on the mysterious Avengers project were recently dealt a blow.

It was rumoured a big reveal on the Avengers Square Enix game could have taken place at The Game Awards 2018.

Rumours were sparked after Avengers Infinity War directors the Russo Brothers were lined-up as guests.

However, instead it was Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 that got announced – a Nintendo Switch exclusive beat-em up.

But for fans left worried that the Avengers game has been cancelled, one Twitter account has given fans assurances.

The Have We Heard Anything About The Avengers Project Twitter posted: “I want you all to know that the game is not cancelled.

“I can confirm this. Don’t listen to rumors or make your own assumptions.

It’s Square Enix, we know how they are.”
