Fortnite Battle Royale players look set to be getting a brand new sword weapon which could play a major part in a soon-to-be-released LTM.
The official Fortnite Twitter account today posted a teaser trailer for the Fortnite sword weapon.
The teaser shows the Fortnite sword stuck in the snow until a mysterious figure, likely The Ice King, comes along and pulls it out by the handle.
The Fortnite sword teaser trailer was posted on Twitter alongside the caption: “Coming soon… a weapon fit for a King”.
The news comes after leaked files from the Fortnite 7.0.0 patch suggested a new LTM was coming that is focused on a sword.
The Fortnite season 7 files obtained by dataminers all had audio files for swords covering multiple scenarios like attacks, impacts and swings.
It’s also led to speculation that the sword could act like the Infinity Gauntlet in the Thanos Avengers LTM earlier this year.
So, players may only be able to get hold of the Fortnite sword after certain criteria is fulfilled.
The Fortnite sword teaser says it’s “coming soon”, which seems to suggest that it will arrive in this week’s Fortnite update – patch 7.01.
This week the Fortnite creative mode also looks to have a wider rollout after the period of early access for Fortnite season 7 Battle Pass holders.
For those that don’t know, the new mode lets players design their own mini-games, maps and battles on a private island.
This will all be happening on their own private island where everything they make is saved from session to session.
And creations from Fortnite creative mode will feature in the recently announced The Block area.
