Pokemon Go PvP release date news, Trainer Battles latest, Sinnoh Stone update

The Pokemon Go release date for PvP Trainer Battles looks set to be announced in the coming days.

Niantic has been straightforward about their latest update, confirming their plans well in advance of release.

For those that don’t know, Niantic is getting ready to launch one of the most wanted Pokemon Go features ever.

While Trainers have been able to battle Raid Bosses and Pokemon stationed in Gyms, they have not been able to tackle each other.

But this is all going to change later this week.

Beginning in December 2018, Trainer Battles will allow you to challenge a friend or another Trainer at any time.

Players will use Battle Codes to throw out the challenge and will only be able to use three Pokemon in a match.

Niantic has hinted that special evolution items will be offered after these battles have been completed, meaning it could be another way to collect Sinnoh Stones.

The Sinnoh Stone can currently only be earned by completing Research Breakthroughs, limiting how many you can get a week.

An expansion of this system would certainly prove popular with fans, however, Niantic has yet to announce anything new about Sinnoh Stones.

POKEMON GO PVP RELEASE DATE

Data miners have confirmed finding the code for the new Pokemon Go Trainer Battles.

This new update is expected to start rolling out to players over the coming days and will likely take a while to reach everyone.

Trainers are hopeful to see it reach everyone by Tuesday, December 11. However, Niantic has not revealed when this new feature will arrive.

It’s hard to guess when the PvP update will start rolling but seems more likely that Niantic won’t flip the switch until closer to Thursday.

Whenever they do decide to launch it, it wouldn’t be surprising if they choose to rollout by level first.

This will mean players who are level 40 will get to beta test the new Trainer Battles.

This will be followed by PvP feature being rolled down to the lower level players until reaching level 5.

The next major Pokemon Go update looks set to land later this week, even if the timing isn’t yet known.

Here’s more about the system from Niantic, who confirm: “Battles are fast-paced and real-time, so don’t expect to wait your turn!

“Your selected team of Pokémon will be able to execute both their Fast Attack and Charged Attack moves. In preparation for battle, you’ll even be able to use Stardust and Candy to unlock a bonus Charged Attack for your Pokémon. Timing is important!

“If you use your head and keep an eye on your opponent’s moves, you may be able to deploy a Protect Shield to save your Pokémon from critical damage. But you only have a limited number of these shields before your Pokémon will be left defenceless.

“While Trainers will usually have to be nearby in order to initiate a Trainer Battle, Ultra Friends and Best Friends can challenge each other from any distance. So, near or far, you can battle with your closest friends!

“Looking to learn the ropes or sharpen your budding battle skills? Team leaders Spark, Candela, and Blanche are eager to test your bravery!

“You can earn rewards once per day when training with a team leader, including Stardust to help power up your Pokémon. Work toward earning an Ace Trainer medal.”

And if Niantic does start giving away the Sinnoh Stone as a special reward as part of the PvP mode, Trainers could soon start to get more chances to add new Gen 4 Pokemon to their roster.
