Royal Family Christmas: Does the Queen give staff gifts? Present giving protocol revealed

According the Royal Family website the Queen gives her staff a Christmas pudding.

This is in keeping with a tradition created by her grandfather.

George V began handing out Christmas puddings to strangers as a gesture of festive goodwill.

This is not all that royal staff receive.

They each get a card from the Queen and Prince Phillip, 96.

All of the palace employees get these gifts, as do those who work in the palace post office and police that work at the palace.

It has also been reported that senior staff are additionally given vouchers.

According to the Independent the staff are given Tesco’s Finest Matured Christmas Pudding.

In the past the puddings were from much posher Fortnum & Mason.

However, the paper claims that changes of supermarket were made to save money.
