P20 Pro could soon be outclassed if Huawei’s next phone looks this good

P20 Pro released at the start of the year and was responsible for propelling the Huawei brand forward in terms of recognisability.

The hardware took the smartphone market by storm thanks to its triple-camera array and other flagship features.

Although the device is staunchly rivalled by Huawei’s Mate 20 Pro device and the Google Pixel 3, it is still capable of capturing some of the best images on a smartphone right now.

P20 Pro comes with a 40-megapixel main sensor that is accompanied by a 20-megapixel monochrome lens and an 8-megapixel telephoto system.

Moreover, the hardware also offers a great viewing experience for photos thanks to its vibrant 6.1-inch AMOLED display.

Since its release the P20 Pro has become incredibly popular with Android fans, but it appears the hardware could soon be trumped by an entirely new Huawei handset.

The Chinese tech giant recently took to Weibo to show off a teaser image for its forthcoming Nova 4 smartphone.

The device was shown to feature an all-screen design with admirably minimal bezels and no notch at the top.

Instead the hardware employed a strategic cutout in one of the corners of its display that houses the front-facing camera.

Huawei’s teaser poster for the product suggests more information about the device will be revealed on December 17.

However, during a live stream celebrating the 18th birthday of Chinese singer Jackson Yee last week, the Nova 4 was seemingly outed.

A device was shown during the event that boasted Huawei’s signature EMUI skin running on top of Google’s Android operating system and featured a hole punch-style cutout the top of its screen, spotted by WinFuture.

The Nova 4 is expected to come with Huawei’s new Kirin 980 processor under the hood and 6GB of RAM.

And the device is presumed to have Android 9 Pie pre-installed.

Notable tipster Ben Geskin recently posted a concept image of the Nova 4 that looked incredibly tantalising.

The hardware was shown flaunting a triple-camera system on its rear in a similar vertical layout to the P20 Pro.

Moreover, the Nova 4 was also displayed in a vibrant red and yellow gradient colour scheme.

If the device does look like the concept from Geskin, the Nova 4 could severely outclass the P20 Pro that has significantly larger bezels overall.

Huawei is expected to reveal the Nova 4 in full on December 17.
