LeBron James BLASTED by Warriors rival Kevin Durant over ‘toxic’ Lakers environment

Durant is furious with how the media cover James’ career and claims he gets preferential treatment because of all he has accomplished.

James has won three NBA Championships – one more than Durant – and is hoping to launch a title challenge with Los Angeles Lakers this term.

Defending champions Warriors are also out to win the Championship for a third year in a row.

And Durant is unhappy with the reporting which goes on in the local Lakers press.

“So much hype comes from being around LeBron from other people,” Durant said.

“He has so many fanboys in the media. Even the beat writers just fawn over him.

“I’m like, we’re playing basketball here, and it’s not even about basketball at certain points.

“So I get why anyone wouldn’t want to be in that environment because it’s toxic.

“Especially when the attention is bulls*** attention, fluff.”

However, Durant quickly backtracked to try and rule James out of the blame.

“It’s not LeBron’s fault at all; it’s just the fact you have so many groupies in the media that love to hang on every word,” he added.

“Just get out of the way and let us play basketball.”

The Warriors are one place above the Lakers as they sit fourth in the Western Conference.

And they return to action against Cleveland Cavaliers tonight.

Meanwhile, James’ Lakers host San Antonio Spurs in the early hours of Thursday morning.
