Eden Hazard reveals the big difference between Maurizio Sarri and Antonio Conte at Chelsea

Hazard has been in inspiring form this season under Sarri.

The Chelsea star, 27, has scored seven times in 13 Premier League games.

His form has helped Chelsea challenge for a spot in the back four again and until their defeat to Tottenham last week they were keeping pace with Liverpool and leaders Manchester City.

And Hazard is enjoying playing under the boss after falling out with Conte over the playing style last season.

When asked about the the biggest difference between last season and this he spoke about the freedom to express himself.

“The manager has given me a lot of freedom,” he said.

“When we’ve got the ball and we have a lot of possession so we touch the ball more, we can score more goals and we create a lot of chances, but the biggest change is that he’s given me a lot of freedom.”

Hazard was critical of Conte after the FA Cup final, where they beat Manchester United thanks to his goal from the penalty spot.

Hazard is locked in talks with the club over extending his contract and Sarri has urged him to get the deal signed.

Chelsea are ready to pay him £300,000 a week and make him one of the highest earners in the country.

You know very well that Eden is very important for us, like every special player. He’s important for his club,” Sarri said.

“It’s up to him. The club is available to sign a new contract immediately, but it’s up to him if he wants to renew or not.

“I want Eden here, of course, but I want him here if he wants to stay here.”

Chelsea have recently handed new deals to Cesar Azpilicueta and N’Golo Kante.

And Hazard thinks both are really important players.

“He’s very important, believe me,” Hazard said of Kante.

“The way the manager wants him to play is a bit different to last year and two years ago, but I think he can adapt.

“He’s clever on the pitch and in midfield he’s one of the best in the world, we all know that. He’s won almost everything so we need him and he will show the best of N’Golo soon.”
