Man Utd boss Jose Mourinho refused to answer one big question from MUTV because of Arsenal

Mourinho was speaking to MUTV ahead of their clash with Arsenal at Old Trafford on Wednesday night.

The Portuguese us under intense pressure as he looks to guide his side into the Champions League spots in the Premier League.

However, they are eight points behind fourth-placed Arsenal and facing an injury crisis ahead of the tie.

Defenders Phil Jones, Luke Shaw, Matteo Damrian and Antonio Valencia are all doubtfukm while Victor Lindelof is ruled out with injury and Ashley Young is suspended.

Marcos Rojo, Chris Smalling and Eric Bailly are back in contention but all three are severely lacking match fitness.

“Looking to next match I say we are going to be in difficulties to build a team we are going to have to make adaptations, compensations to give some balance to the team but I believe we will have the spirit to fight and win the match,” he said.

Mourinho was then pressed to provide a more detailed update but he refused, claiming other clubs such as Arsenal do not ask their manager to provide such specific details.

The reporter said: “Can you update is at all?”

And Mourinho snapped: “No. I don’t want to update you, I would like Arsenal TV to make the same questions, but they don’t, they hide everything from the inside, so why should I answer to you so why should I give anything to you.”

Mourinho said last month that he is targeting a place in the top four and qualification for their Champions League group by the end of this year.

Their spot in the last 16 of the Champions League is secured but their league position has forced Mourinho to reassess his targets.

“Before the Crystal Palace game I told my hopes and targets were, by the end of December, to be in that position,” he said.

“The target changed, but in the sense of let’s try to close the distance as best we can and be very close to these positions.

“So I think it’s far from a miracle, we just need to not be so unlucky with problems that we have, we need some players to perform better than they are and we need to perform better as a team, but far from a miracle.”
