LeBron James: Lakers star Brandon Ingram reveals how LeBron has changed his game

James arrived on the west coast from Cleveland Cavaliers in the offseason after opting out of the final year of his contract in Ohio.

The four-time MVP had a slow start with the Lakers but has found his feet now with Luke Walton’s men performing well.

Ingram is averaging 15.7 points per game this NBA season, down from his 16.1 ppg last year.

His rebounds and assists are also down this season while he’s playing a minute and a half less per game too.

And the 21-year-old has admitted that James’ arrival is a reason for the difference in stats.

“There’s been an adjustment just because we are both so ball dominant,” he told Lakers Voices.

“He can pass the ball, I can drive the basketball.

“He can drive the basketball, he’s a lot stronger with the finish.

“He can shoot the three, he can shoot the mid-range. He can do pretty much anything on a basketball floor.

“As the games continue, that’s going to help a lot because we can get a connection.

“Where is he going to be when I drive the basketball? Where am I going to be when he drives the basketball?

“As the games continue and we continue to talk, there’ll be some connectivity.”

There has been plenty of rumours linking a number of star names with a switch to the Lakers.

But coach Walton insists he has not spoken with LeBron James over any long-term plans, and simply only on how they can maximise their potential for this year.

“We talk about the best route to get where we want to be at the end of this season,” Walton told reporters at Lakers practice.

“What’s the best way of getting there? We have those type of talks. As far as anything past this season, we don’t talk about it at all.”
