NBA news: Kevin Durant makes big Steph Curry revelation after Warriors win

Durant posted 28 points and weighed in with eight assists as the Warriors got their season back on track last night with a 128-111 win over the Atlanta Hawks.

While Curry top-scored with 30 points, Durant was efficient with his shooting, notching his tally from 13 attempts.

Between them Curry and Durant scored 58 points from a combined 30 efforts.

And Durant has revealed how Curry – who only recently returned from a long injury lay-off – has convinced him to change the way he shoots during games.

“Tonight I was telling myself ‘If Steph gets it going, then I have to be aggressive’ but in a different way,” Durant said.

“So I picked and chose my spots.

“I was a bit more strategic where I wanted to shoot.

“When Steph was going off like that, it allows me to play that type of game.

“It’s fine when you are playing a mental game like that.

“It’s a bit more of a challenge doing that rather than chucking up shots and getting to 40, but both ways are pretty fun.”

Meanwhile, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr, who was very critical of himself after his side’s defeat to the Detroit Pistons, was more upbeat after the Hawks.

He said: “Oh my God, I did such a good job tonight.

“I just went in and looked at the mirror and winked.”

The Warriors’ record now stands at 16-9 and they are fourth in the Western Conference standings.

They take on the Cleveland Cavaliers in their fourth of their five-game road trip on Thursday midnight UK time (7pm Eastern Time).
