Tyson Fury reveals what he really thinks about Deontay Wilder rematch

Frank Warren, Fury’s promoter, has already revealed that he and the British Boxing Board of Control (BBBofC) will be writing to the World Boxing Council (WBC) in the hope of a rematch being ordered.

Fury and his team were left deeply unsatisfied with the judges, who scored the bout a split decision draw.

Alejandro Rochin, in particular, infuriated the Englishman’s camp by scoring the bout 115-111 in favour of Wilder.

The decision has been branded a “robbery” by some boxing experts, such as former two-weight world champion Paulie Malignaggi.

Fury dominated the early and middle rounds but was dropped in ninth after what he claims was an illegal back-of-the-head shot.

The Gypsy King regained control for rounds 10 and 11 but then truly felt the force of Wilder, who laid him out after a right-left combination.

Fury’s sprawled figure cut that of an unconscious man, but the 30-year-old incredibly found it in himself to beat the count.

The inconclusive result has now left Fury’s team and boxing fans gagging for a rematch, and the Gypsy King revealed whether he thinks Wilder will oblige.

“Yeah, I believe he will,” Fury told iFL TV.

“But if he doesn’t, he doesn’t, does he? You can’t force anybody to do anything they don’t want to do.

“You can take a horse to water but you can’t make it drink it.”

The fight in Los Angeles was Fury’s second world title bout after dethroning Wladimir Klitschko in November 2015, with both fights taking place on away soil.

“I’ve proved I’ll fight anybody at any time and I did this many, many times in my career,” Fury, who has fought five of his 28 bouts outside of the UK, said.

“If they fight, they fight. And if they don’t, there’s plenty of options out there.”
