Tonight (Sunday, December 2) on ITV, Ellie Goulding is among an all-star cast of guests on The X Factor, which airs from 7.30pm on ITV. This appearance caps off a busy year for the Love Me Like You Do singer, who got engaged to boyfriend Caspar Jaspar in August 2018. But who is the man Ellie Goulding is engaged to?
Who is Caspar Jopling?
Caspar Jopling is a 26-year-old British art dealer.
As of October 2018, he is an associate in corporate development and strategy for auction house Sotheby’s in New York.
He comes from an aristocratic family, with his grandfather Thomas Jopling sitting in the House of Lords and his uncle Jay is the founder of the White Cube art galleries.
He had been dating Ellie Goulding for 18 months before he proposed to her in New York in August 2018.

The pair attended the wedding of Princess Eugenie together earlier this year.
He wrote on Instagram: “Took this photo about 5 mins after we got engaged, about 10 minutes after we got home and started a crappy puzzle, about an hour after we were running through the streets of NYC in the rain singing and dancing :).
“I look forward to a lifetime of exploring the world together, crying with laughter at stupid jokes, chatting into the early hours of the morning about art, music, the world, and the future. I love you Elena [Ellie’s full first name].”
It was first revealed that Caspar and Ellie were an item in March, when The Sun reported the Burn singer introduced the Eton alumnus to her friends at a karaoke bar in London.
The Sun reported an onlooker said: “Ellie had brought Caspar along as her date. They were very coupley and touchy-feely.
“Things with Caspar are very casual but they have hooked up a few times and seem to like each other. But she’s officially single.
“It doesn’t help that Caspar is based mainly in New York at the moment so it will be hard for them to see each other.”
Prior to this, it was reported she was dating Bobby Rich, the bodyguard of the Beckhams.
That same onlooker told The Sun: “Ellie and Bobby started cooling off before the Brits.
“It was a surprise to people as they seemed really serious at Christmas. They are still friends though.”
Ellie and Caspar have not yet publicly revealed the date of their upcoming wedding.
The announcement of their engagement in The Times read: “Mr C.W.F. Jopling and Miss E.J. Goulding. The engagement is announced between Caspar, son of The Hon Nicholas Jopling of Yorkshire and Mrs Jayne Warde-Aldam of Yorkshire, and Elena, daughter of Mr Arthur Goulding of Hertfordshire and Mrs Tracey Sumner of West Midlands.”
