Stacey Dooley: Strictly 2018 star reveals EPIC wardrobe malfunction on BBC dance floor

Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton, 36, will perform an American Smooth (Foxtrot) to Les Miserables’ I Dreamed A Dream as part of Strictly Come Dancing 2018’s Musicals Week this evening. However, their run through in the BBC studio yesterday went far from to plan, she revealed in a late-night Instagram video. The 31-year-old spoke out in view of her 409,000 followers and said she had suffered a major wardrobe malfunction. However, the documentary-maker sounded far from worried, suggesting her outfit will have some final changes so the same does not happen again in front of millions.

“Hi gang, so tomorrow is the quarter-finals, just ridiculous that we’re in the final six. As if!” Stacey started.

She continued: “Erm, rehearsals went well today except my skirt fell down but you know, can’t have it all.

“Sorry, that [the clip] finished too soon. So anyway, I was reading through your messages just now lying in bed, and you’ve all just been so, so, so lovely.”

Stacey went on: “Thank you ever so much. And like whatever happens, whenever we get kicked out la la la, we’ve had the best…

“Anyway just wanted to say thank you. Should’ve done a live so I didn’t get cut off all the time. Yeah, see you tomorrow gang. Have a good night.”

She will go up against Joe Sugg, Faye Tozer, Ashley Roberts, Lauren Steadman and Charles Venn in tonight’s instalment.

Stacey and Kevin had reflected on the practise on the famous floor in an earlier upload, with the latter hilariously failing to mention the mishap.

“How did that go? I have’t seen it back,” she asked her companion.

He replied: “We haven’t watched it back yet but to dance that felt really good to me. Stacey danced super, super well – a brilliant, ballroom dancer.”

When asked if there was “anything else”, he quipped: “There’s just a few props and things and like skirt…”

Last week the twosome found themselves just one place from the top of the leaderboard, behind Faye, 43, and Giovanni Pernice.

According to bookmakers Ladbrokes, Stacey is the current favourite to lift the Glitterball later this month.

They have given her odds of 10/11, followed by YouTuber Joe, 27, (9/4) and Pussycat Dolls hitmaker Ashley, 37, (10/1).

A spokesperson told Express.co.uk: “Stacey’s got one hand on the Glitterball trophy as far as the odds are concerned.

“It would be a big surprise to both bookies and punters if she fails to be crowned as this year’s winner.”

Strictly Come Dancing 2018 continues tonight at 7.05pm on BBC One, while spin-off It Takes Two airs weekdays at 6.30pm and 6pm on Fridays on BBC Two.
