Fury v Wilder: Luis Ortiz SLAMS Anthony Joshua and issues him fresh challenge

That is what Wilder’s last foe, Luis Ortiz, believes.

Joshua announced he would not go to the fight, as he was due to fly to America later in the month for some promotional responsibilities.

However, Ortiz has declared that the brit is ‘scared’.

Joshua holds all of the major world title belts, except for the WBC belt, which Wilder is putting on the line against Fury.

“AJ should 1,000 percent be here at ringside,” Ortiz declared to BoxingScene.

“With three of the best heavyweights fighting in the same arena on Saturday night, he should absolutely be there.

“I believe that he’s saving face and that he’s scared.

“I don’t think Joshua wants to [face his critics] and deal with the questions from the public and the media regarding his [legitimacy] as a champion.”

“Anthony Joshua should fight me if Deontay loses and Tyson Fury and him have an immediate rematch.

“But I laugh at that notion, because it will never happen.”

That idea of Joshua being scared was echoed by Ortiz’ trainer, Herman Caicedo.

Caicedo slammed Joshua for not being in attendance, and claimed he can’t keep living off his victory over Wladimir Klitschko.

“Anthony Joshua’s an uppity snob, and that’s why he’s not coming,” he said.

“Anthony Joshua can’t keep claiming Klitschko [for his No. 1 status,] because Klitschko wasn’t s*** by the time he fought Joshua.”
