Theresa May to CONFRONT Saudi Crown Prince over journalist’s MURDER and Yemen bombings

The Prime Minister confirmed the meeting to reporters during the flight to the international gathering after speculation as to whether she would meet with the Middle Eastern leader. She said: “I am intending to speak with the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia. “The message that I give will be very clear … on this issue of Jamal Khashoggi but also on the issue of Yemen.

“We want to see a full and transparent investigation in relation to what happened and obviously those responsible being held to account.”

She added the UK is concerned about the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Yemen.

Mrs May said: “On the issue of Yemen, we continue to be deeply concerned about the humanitarian situation.

“The long-term solution for Yemen is a political situation and we will be encouraging all parties actually to look for that and work for that.”

The UK and many other western countries have called for an end to the bombing operations in Yemen.

Other countries, such as the US, have called for a ceasefire in Yemen so negotiations can take place.

MbS has fallen under extreme scrutiny following the murder of Saudi Journalist Jamal Khashoggi in Istanbul on October 2.

Multiple countries have halted weapons sales to the Kingdom in retaliation to the murder.

While the Saudi government claims the Crown Prince had no knowledge of the killing, this has been disputed by various intelligence services around the world.

Earlier this week the CIA came out with a report saying that they believed that MbS had ordered the killing and dismembering of the journalist.

US President Donald Trump has continued to refuse to accept the findings of his own intelligence service, saying they were not 100 percent sure.

When asked if the Prime Minister would shake the Crown Prince’s hand during their meeting, her spokesman said: “Engagement is important if we are to address these issues.”
