Red Dead Redemption 2 release update: Red Dead Online story missions LEAKED

Big Red Dead Redemption 2 release news this week includes the shock reveal that data miners have found new story missions for RDR2 Online.

As fans will already know, there’s plenty of things to do in Red Dead Online multiplayer mode on PS4 and Xbox One.

Currently, we know of two mission types that are both affected by your ranking in the honour system.

Free Roam Missions are activated by finding stranger icons on the map, with the outcomes depending on what kind of outlaw you are.

An honourable gunslinger may be asked to help escort a convoy, defending it from attacking gangs or even other players’ Posses, whereas a dishonourable outlaw may be asked to help spring a felon from the law.

These are the types of missions that are most common and work alongside some of the other modes that can be found in Red Dead Online.

And there are also more narrative-driven story missions that can be found in multiplayer mode.

A Land of Opportunities is the first instalment in this list of new missions, which allows groups of two to four players to band together to complete.

In A Land of Opportunities, you’ll be faced with a multi-part series of missions, with some parts changing as your honour changes on a larger journey to seek truth and justice, or revenge.

list of missions has also been leaked online by data miners, suggesting there is plenty more on the way.

Here’s a list of some of those new missions shared online by data miners:

Highly Illegal and Highly Immoral: Marshall Davies asked you to meet him near Van Horn. He is on the trail of Alfredo Montez, and he wants to finish things.

Honour Among Horse Thieves: Horley suggested you go to see Clay Davies, a horse thief, to learn the ins and outs of the horse-rustling trade.

If the Hat Fits…: Horley directed you towards the Blackwater police chief in Pike’s Basin. A conman and outlaw is on the loose. Whether or not justice will be done depends on your Honor.

Kerosene, Tar, and Greed: Horley thought you should offer your services to Samson Finch near Dewberry Creek. Industry is in his crosshairs. He has a job to do and a score to settle.

Kill Them, Each and Every One: You were told to meet Horley and Mrs. LeClerk south of Armadillo. The man who killed her husband may be holed up nearby.

Love and Honor: Horley told you to call on the Tumbleweed Sheriff. A young woman has been taken by a gang of outlaws, and her husband is concerned. A moral decision will be required.

These are all separate from the showdown modes that have been announced by Rockstar Games for Red Dead Online.

These new competitive gameplay modes are new to Red Dead Online, and the Beta includes 5 new of them at launch that is part of a larger series of Showdowns.

Enter one of the Showdown Series Markers for fast matchmaking into a variety of modes:

Shootout & Team Shootout: Classic gunfight modes with unlimited lives. Compete to rack up the most kills before the timer runs out. Sudden death will trigger in the event of a tie: whoever gets the first kill wins.

Make it Count: A true test of resourcefulness in two game modes: use nothing but a bow and a handful of arrows or throwing knives to be the last one standing. With a gradually shrinking player area, there’s nowhere to run.

Most Wanted: A tactical race to the top. Every kill pushes you up the scoreboard, but watch out: the closer to the top you are, the more points everyone else gets for killing you.

Hostile Territory: Work in teams to control the land. Capture a territory to start racking up points: the team with most points wins – or you can win outright by capturing every territory.

Name your Weapon: Demonstrate your personal speciality in this free-for-all or team-based match: the trickier the weapon you use to land the killing blow, the more points you get.

Expect more to be revealed about Red Dead Redemption 2 Online the closer we get to the completion of the RDR2 beta.
