Kate Middleton lets slip Prince George’s adorable nickname for Prince William

Kate Middleton, 36, and husband Prince William, 36, visited Leicester City Football Club on Wednesday to pay tribute to those who lost their lives in the tragic helicopter crash in October.

After paying their respects and meeting with the relatives of the club’s owner, Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha who was amongst the five who died in the crash, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge chatted with Royal fans and well-wishers.

When asked how her children, Prince George, five, Princess Charlotte, three, and Prince Louis, seven months, were doing, Catherine said “they’re doing well thank you, they’re excited for Christmas time”.

They’ve started all their Christmas songs and Christmas trees are going up. It’s exciting.”

She added: “Louis is getting bigger I can’t believe he’s seven months, he’s a big boy.”

And according to People, season ticket holder Fiona Sturgess told reporters the Duchess also revealed son George’s nickname for his dad Prince William.

The football fan said: “Kate said that William was playing football with the children last night and one of them said, I think it was George, ‘Are you playing football tomorrow, Pops?’”

The mother of three was also asked about Meghan Markle, and whether she was excited for the new Royal baby.

Quashing speculation of a ‘feud’ between the sisters-in-law, Kate replied: “Yeah, absolutely.

“It’s such a special time to have all the kiddies and a cousin for George and Charlotte as well as Louis so it’ll be really special”.

Her comments on her excitement about the new Royal arrival multiple reports of the relationship between the Duchess of Cambridge and Meghan becoming strained.

A source told the Daily Mail: “Kate and Meghan are very different people. They don’t really get on.”

But on Wednesday’s royal engagement Kate and William showed no signs the reports have bothered them.

The couple knew Vichai and chose to visit the city to recognise the compassion the people of Leicester and the club’s fans have shown since the accident.

For the sombre occasion the Duchess of Cambridge wore a smart grey button-up coat with a Peter Pan collar.

The coat is a Catherine Walker number – a designer the Duchess often wears for formal events.

As it is custom made, the price cannot be confirmed but similar items from the designer she has worn in the past cost around £3,000.

The fitted jacket flared slightly at the waist, with neat pleats from the waist down.

Completing her formal ensemble, the mother of Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis wore her favourite pair of black suede shoes with a chunky high heel for comfort. They are from Tods, and cost £335.

In a bid to battle the breeze, Kate wore her brunette locks in a tidy pony tail scraped off of her face.

She accessorised with a pair of large pearl earrings by Cassandra Goad, £4360, and arrived with a stylish, small black Mayfair handbag, £495, Aspinal, in hand. A Cartier Ballon Bleu watch, £6350, completed the outfit.
