RDR2 Online release UPDATE: The PS4 exclusive every Red Dead 2 Online player needs

Red Dead Redemption 2 Online is set to be the next major multiplayer obsession for a lot of console players.

It looks like Rockstar Games have put together a massive new world for gamers on PS4 and Xbox One to explore.

It also looks set to be a pretty hostile place, with the new honor system keeping track of all your good and bad deeds.

So getting an edge on your fellow outlaws might become quite a big deal as more people start playing Red Dead 2 Online.

The good news for PS4 fans is that there is a big bonus that can be found almost straight after you start playing.

PlayStation has a deal with Rockstar in which PS4 players get access to some of the game’s content first.

And this includes a new weapon for the RDR2 Online beta.

Players will, of course, need an active PS Plus subscription to claim this new bonus, as they won’t be able to access multiplayer mode without it.

And for those who don’t won’t get left behind, they’ll want to find the High Roller Double-Action Revolver as soon as possible.

This new weapon “features a polished steel body with unique period-inspired, beautifully detailed engraving work.

“The deadly, quick draw revolver comes complete with a unique playing card and skull elements carved into the grip.

“Its superior, quick rate of fire over all other revolvers makes it a great choice for mounted combat.”

HOW TO UNLOCK THE NEW PS4 RED DEAD 2 ONLINE BONUS

For those who want to grab an edge against their opponents in RDR2 Online, they’ll want to track down the new Revolver.

The High Roller Double-Action Revolver is one of the first weapons of its kind you can unlock in Red Dead Online, regardless of rank.

While other weapons will take hours of grinding before they are available to unlock, this one can be found for free.

Costing $0 makes it one of the best rewards in the early game of Red Dead Online and it’s also easy to track down.

Players will want to head over to Thief’s Landing and visit the fence which can be found there.

Looking through the Fence menu should include finding the new weapon which is being offered for free.

After purchasing the gun, it should appear in your selection wheel and be available to carry from then on in the beta.

As mentioned above, this bonus is currently only available on PS4 and will remain like that for the next 30 days.

“Both Red Dead Redemption 2 and its multiplayer experience, Red Dead Online, will come with exciting PlayStation 4 benefits right from launch,” the message from Sony PlayStation explains.

“In Red Dead Redemption 2, PS4 players will be able to customise Arthur Morgan with the Grizzlies Outlaw Outfit.

“Come November with the launch of Red Dead Online, PS4 players will get 30 days early access to the versatile Arabian horse featuring a custom Alligator skin saddle, and the High Roller double-action revolver.

“Make sure that you have an active PS Plus subscription so that you can access Red Dead Online and check out these awesome items.”

As mentioned above, the Red Dead 2 Online beta rollout will continue this week, with more players being added each day.
