Elton John tour CANCELLED: How to get refund of tickets after Elton John cancels tour

Elton John, 71, was scheduled to perform in Orlando Tuesday night, but the sold-out crowd was informed half an hour after showtime the concert had been canceled. Amway Center, where the concert was due to take place took to Twitter to spread the news: “We’re sorry to announce that due to an ear infection, Elton John is unable to perform tonight.”

How to get a refund

Fans have been told to keep their tickets and that the show will be rescheduled in “the near future”.

Amway Centre said: “The rescheduled Orlando date will be announced in the near future so please hold onto your tickets.”

However, according to thinkmoney.com if the organisers of the concert cancel and you bought tickets through an official seller you should be able to get a refund.

The same is true if they move it to a different date and you can’t go anymore.

The website read: “The organisers or the ticket company should give you this money back automatically – it usually goes straight onto the card you bought the tickets with.

“If you don’t get a refund, it might be worth looking on the organisers’ website – you might have to claim the money back yourself.”

After the Elton John concert was dismissed rumours emerged there had been a bomb threat, replying to a Twitter user: “Mike, there was never a bomb threat.

“As we have stated from the outset, tonight’s show was canceled due to an ear infection.

“All other explanations are unfounded.

“The new Orlando and Tampa dates will be announced in the near future.”

Fans voiced their frustrations on Twitter.

One concertgoer wrote: “Tickets to @eltonofficial: way too expensive That feeling when they tell you the show is canceled 30 mins after the show was supposed to start: (angry emoji).”

Sir Elton’s Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour, said to be his last, had already caused a stir among fans for the price of its tickets.

Some fans paid as much as £520 for tickets to the UK leg of the tour in 2019 and 2020.

The concert is said to be the “Candle in the Wind” singer’s last.
