NBA news: Steph Curry makes major trade statement amid Warriors’ trouble

The Warriors star has been out of action for three weeks after suffering a foot injury

Curry, who has won three NBA titles, is going for another this year.

However, the Warriors’ season has been impacted by issues off-court.

Draymond Green and Kevin Durant were involved in an on-court feud against the LA Clippers, before Green told Durant to leave the franchise.

There has been much speculation about various members of the Warriors, Green, Durant and Klay Thompson, potentially leaving the side.

However Curry has reassured fans that he will be going nowhere.

“Personally, I thank Oakland for embracing me as one of their own, for giving me a new home, for giving me a sense of pride and something to play for,” he said.

“It was definitely a culture shock for sure [moving from North Carolina]

“How fast things move, how vibrant the city is and just how beautiful the city is, too.

“This is our new home.

“I really don’t feel like we’re ever going to leave this area.

“And that’s something that 20 years ago I never would’ve thought this would be where I’d end up.”

If Curry and the Warriors are successful this year, they will win their fourth NBA title in five years.

And the point guard is under no illusions about the greatness of the task at hand.

“Going into a season with what we have on our team, a championship is what you focus on,” he said.

“But this year, it makes it a little bit more focused and more special in terms of understanding what is at stake.

“Trying to win three in a row and this is our last season in Oakland, playing in front of the fans there at Oracle Arena.”
