Lucy Verasamy: ITV weather star makes surprising admission about presenting forecasts

Lucy Verasamy, 38, is a fan-favourite presenting the weather and the star certainly enjoys showing viewers her personality.

Spilling all on what she loves most about her job, she told The Guardian: “We’re famously the only presenters without an Autocue.

“So you get to bring your personality out.”

Lucy also divulged on the worst parts of delivering the forecasts on ITV and said it’s difficult to make broadcasts interesting where there’s a lot of “non-weather” in the UK.

She explained: “This year aside, we don’t usually have the extremes that, say, the US has.

“On the flipside, two days are rarely the the same.”

Lucy is now preparing herself for getting inundated with questions on whether she believes the UK will have a white Christmas this year.

Putting all hopes of a magical festive season to bed, Lucy pointed out there’s more chance of snow earlier on in the year.

“It’s more likely to snow at Easter than Christmas,” she told the publication.

“The Met Office definition, which the bookies use, is for one snowflake to fall on 25 December at various points around the country.”

Lucy continued: “We’ve grown up with snowy Christmas scenes – but they come from the Victorian era, when they were coming out of a mini ice age.”

The brunette beauty was joined in the interview by fellow weather presenters Tomasz Schafernaker, 39, and Nazaneen Ghaffar, 33.

The trio posed for a photo together for the publication, which Lucy shared a glimpse to on her Instagram account.

The ITV favourite wrapped up warm in the weather-themed shoot as she sported a thigh blue coat.

Lucy completed her look with a pair of patterned glove and a pair of black skinny jeans.

Her ITV co-star Tomasz also ensured he kept to the theme with a padded jacket over the top of a mustard roll-neck jumper.

The pair posed side-by-side in the photo as they stood in front of a blue backdrop.

Lucy added a cheeky caption to the post and said: “A little weather love-in with @schafernaker.”

Tomasz reposted Lucy’s photo to his own Instagram account, which sent his 22,4000 followers into a frenzy.

One person wrote: “Two beauts.”

“Looks lovely,” added a second.

While a fan of Tomasz gushed: “Sexiest weatherman in the whole wide world…”

Despite no hopes of snow, Lucy recently told ITV viewers she predicts “gloomy” weather for the rest of this week leading up to December.

During her forecast yesterday, the star warned the public to expect a “little disappointment” as temperatures continue to drop.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV at 6am.
