How To Spend It Well at Christmas: Phillip Schofield reveals ultimate kids’ Christmas gift

Christmas presents can prove a headache for people with children in their lives.

There are so many great gifts available to buy, so how are you supposed to know which the kids will like best?

Fortunately, the second season of How To Spend It Well at Christmas with Phillip Schofield returned today to help with gift inspiration.

In the ITV show, Phillip Schofield, 59, – best known for his presenting role on This Morning – revealed the top Christmas toys to buy children this year.

After trialling a plethora of exciting toys, Phillip revealed the best toy this year is the Nerf Laser Ops Pro Blaster.

The nerf guns’ RRP is £44.99 and, according to Phillip, playing with them, “is just like laser quest at home.”

The presenter tried them out with comedian Sally Phillips and her three sons on the show.

“You could see the delight on their faces when they started to play,” Phillip noted.

“These are going to be huge at Christmas,” he added of the present.

According to toy manufacturer Hasbro, “They fire a single-shot IR burst with each trigger pull and register hits with lights and sounds, while lights on the back display health status and ammo capacity.

“The blasters have unlimited ammo and a quick-reload button to replenish supply.”

An advantage of the toy, the presenter reveals, is that parents won’t need to shell out on replacement ammo and being shot at doesn’t hurt.

The toy currently features in all the predictor bestseller lists, explains Phillip.

“It’s the toy all kids will be clamouring for the Christmas,” he said on the show.

The guns are suitable for children ages eight and up. Buy the Nerf Laser Ops Pro Blaster here.

How To Spend It Well at Christmas with Phillip Schofield also looked at the rise of new tech pushing into the Christmas toy market.

Phillip recruited a group of experts – a group of six and seven-year-olds – to test a selection of interactive toy pets.

In the running were the products: Mystery Mao by Club Petz, furReal’s Rock-a-too the Show Bird, the Robo Chameleon by SilverLit and Little Live Pets’ Rollie My Kissing Puppy.

Each of the toys had different price tags – ranging from £39.99 up to a whopping £79.99, but in fact, the toy testers found the cheapest product in the selection to be their favourite.

The Robo Chameleon, which retails at £39.99, scooped a mammoth 97 points from the group of youngsters.
