Fortnite season 7 is just around the corner with Battle Royale fans gearing up for the next Battle Pass.
The next Fortnite season could start as early as next week with Fortnite season 7 arriving just in time for Christmas.
Throughout Fortnite season 6 the Battle Pass has had a countdown showing how much time is left until it finishes.
Right now it says the final full day to play season 6 of Fortnite will be Wednesday December 5 2018.
New Fortnite seasons have historically had a release date the day after the final day of the previous Fortnite season.
So that could mean that Fortnite season 7 has a release date of Thursday December 6 2018.
And ahead of the Fortnite season 7 release date a major leak has emerged which could reveal the upcoming Battle Pass theme and a new map.
It has been widely rumoured that Fortnite season 7 – like Fortnite season 6 – will have a seasonal theme.
The spooky ’Darkness Rises’ theme of Fortnite season 6 was perfectly timed for Halloween which occurred around the same time.
And it’s been widely expected that Fortnite season 7 could turn the Battle Royale map into a winter wonderland – just in time for Christmas.
And new, leaked files have given more weight to this Fortnite season 7 theory.
Prominent dataminer Fortnite Battle Royale Leaks has discovered new assets which suggest the Fortnite map in season 7 will be covered in snow.
In today’s Fortnite 6.31 update the @FNBRLeaks Twitter account has discovered files which suggest an icy, wintery event is coming to Fortnite.
They tweeted: “This “Snow Storm” is an Ice Storm, and I have an odd feeling this has to do with next update (v7.0 / S7) There’s a “Distant” file which seems to be the current state of the Ice Storm, then there’s a “Surround” file, which what seems to be the Ice Storm surrounding the island”.
The news comes after last week the FNBRLeaks Twitter also discovered more files that suggested Fortnite season 7 will have a snowy theme.
The Fortnite leaker discovered in-game sound files for footsteps in the snow.
They tweeted: “Snow will most likely come into the game according to Athena (Battle Royale) Footstep Sound Files.
“In the first attached picture shows Character Footstep sounds, After reading the sound asset, it’ll call other snow sound files, which are highlighted”.
The Fortnite Battle Royale Leaks Twitter then added: “Below are the exported sound files that the Athena Footstep Sound files call.
“I made sure to check and these sounds are NOT the same as the Snow Sounds at Viking Village.
“So, this can conclude the fact that we will most likely see a snow map during Christmas!”
