Fortnite gifting system LIVE: Highly anticipated feature added TODAY to Battle Royale

gifting system is now live in Battle Royale with Epic Games at last making the highly anticipated feature active.

The Fortnite gifting system was first revealed back in July during Fortnite season 5 but it has only just gone active today.

The Fortnite gifting feature has gone live just in time for Christmas and lets players send each other cosmetics in-game.

To be able to use the Fortnite gifting feature, they need to have been friends with the person they’re sending a gift to for at least 48 hours.

Fortnite fans can also only send a gift three times within a 24 hour period and gifts that are purchased cannot be refunded.

Fortnite players can also only gift an item that is currently available in the item shop.

If you want to use the Fortnite gifting feature you will also have to make sure you have multi-factor authentication enabled in your account.

In a post online Epic Games explained that the Fortnite gifting feature will be available for a “limited time” of week.

The Fortnite makers said: “We know that many of you have been eagerly awaiting a gifting feature and today we’re excited to announce that for a limited time we’ll be offering it with the release of our 6.31 update!

“This initial gifting period will last one week after the release of the update.

“Please note, gifting is not available on iOS devices because Apple’s policies prohibit it.”

Explaining how the new feature works, the Fortnite team added: “When you go into the Item Shop and choose an item to purchase, you will now be presented with two options: one saying “Purchase Items” and another saying ‘Buy As A Gift’.

“Select “Buy As A Gift” and you’ll be able to choose which friend you want to send the gift to. You can then add a custom message if you would like.

After that, you’re done! Your friend will receive a gift box with the item the next time they log in.”
