LeBron James SLAMMED after Magic defeat – “He was lucky the NFL was on!”

James and the Lakers took on the Magic at 8.30pm UK time on Sunday in the NBA, at the same time as ten NFL games were going on.

And Sharpe argued that James was lucky that these games took some attention away from him.

The Lakers were defeated 108-104 by the Magic as James passed up a perfect chance to score late in the fourth quarter.

James was criticised for his decision to pass the ball to Kentavious Caldwell-Pope in the dying moments instead of go for the shot himself after driving to the basket.

Speaking on the Fox Sports Undisputed show, Bayless criticised James for the pass.

”He was very lucky he played this game in the shadow of the National Football League, because this game deserved it,” Bayless explained.

“Right on schedule, LeBron’s late-game free-throw demons reared their ugly heads.

“His decision making got impacted on the two crucial decisions that had to be made late in that game.”

James has struggled throughout the season with late-game free throws and three-point shots.

And Bayless explained that James is still struggling with that, and that was his thought process behind the decision to pass.

“With 48 seconds in the game left tied, he’s being defended by Eric Gordon, who has five fouls on him,” Bayless continued.

“James opts not to drive the basketball, he’s simply the best driver of the basketball, the best attacker of the ball I have ever seen in all my years, and he opts to step back and shoot a three-point shot that he misses badly.

“What are you doing? Drive him to the basket, maybe get the foul, and take the two free-throws.

“Obviously he doesn’t want to shoot those free-throws because he doesn’t trust himself late in the game at the free-throw line.”

The Lakers take on the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday night.
