Galaxy S9 owners have this huge Android upgrade to look forward to as Samsung prices crash

Galaxy S9 debuted at the start of the year and has remained one of the best Android smartphones on the market.

The flagship comes with one of the greatest displays around that offers vivid colours and pin-sharp content.

Galaxy S9 features with a stunning curved 5.8-inch AMOLED panel with an incredibly high 570 pixels-per-inch.

And the hardware also comes with a capable 12-megapixel rear camera that boasts a variable aperture, allowing it to take shots in low-light conditions that are bright and retain copious amounts of detail.

Although the South Korean handset launched with Android 8 Oreo, Samsung has just announced owners of the hardware can look forward to a software upgrade to Android 9 Pie in January.

The tech giant recently held its developer conference in San Francisco where it showed off One UI, a new software skin that will run on top of Google’s latest and greatest firmware.

One UI looks set to radically alter the Galaxy S9’s interface thanks to a new aesthetic and a fresh array of features.

One of the most welcomed changed will surely be the addition of a new night mode for Galaxy S9 owners.

Although some dark themes had previously been available in the Galaxy Theme Store, they did not apply such a colour scheme to the entirety of the Galaxy S9’s interface.

During the unveiling of One UI, Samsung also boasted about how the software has been specifically designed to make navigating on larger devices easier with one hand.

Applications such as Messages and Samsung Notes were displayed with the majority of content placed in the middle and bottom of the display, meaning users would no longer have to stretch to reach items at the top.

Finally, One UI presents an entirely new aesthetic for Samsung fans, meaning the old TouchWiz-style design is no longer present.

Samsung has decorated One UI with rounded edges and vivid colours that will surely pop when viewing on the Galaxy S9’s panel.

One UI will officially release for the Galaxy S9, S9+ and Galaxy Note 9 in January.

But ahead of the rollout for the new software, prices for the Galaxy S9 have crashed as part of a tantalising offer from Black Friday.

Although the retail phenomenon took place last week, many outlets are still continuing to run discounts on the Samsung smartphone.
