Strictly Come Dancing Joe Sugg and Dianne body language reveals pair ‘thrive’ on this

Joe Sugg and Dianne Buswell performed a hip hop dance on the BBC One show Strictly Come Dancing tonight.

The 27-year-old Youtuber did not impress the judges with his take on the genre, originating from the US.

What did a body language expert make of the couple’s offering this year?

Judi James told Express.co.uk: “Street Dance was an odd choice for Joe as there’s possibly no one less ‘street’ than this popular and lovely but also but lanky kind of character who could never be described as ‘having attitude’.”

The expert likened the young dancer to Fred Astaire, quite the compliment.

However, the comparison didn’t end there.

“This looked rather like a young Fred Astaire making an attempt to look cool and it was clear Dianne danced him off the floor for most of the routine,” Judi said.

“The pair thrive on being the youngsters of the show and their giggling and playful rehearsals made the pair mirror the sibling fun Joe clearly used to have with his sister.

“It looked like a bit of a backward move then after they had performed a great classic Fred and Ginger routine to show off his more grown-up moves last week to resort to some retro street stuff this week.”

However, ultimately their pair did not pull off the dance, according to Judi.

She said: “Street and sequins don’t really go together and I wish they’d advanced in a growing-up linear way rather than trying to look like over-excited kids.”

Twitter users were not impressed with the dance overall.

One wrote: “Not a big fan of this choreography… WHAT was that!? What a waste for couple’s choice round for Joe…”

Another wrote: “I’m an hour behind everyone else but please, please let us never speak of Joe Sugg’s street dance again.”

Another Twitter user wrote: “I really like Joe and he’s amazing considering he’s never danced before but I thought tonight’s dance was embarrassing and messy. Certainly not worth two 10s, that was ridiculous.”
