Rachel Riley Twitter: Countdown bombshell addresses ‘weird’ and naughty ‘anniversary’

Countdown beauty Rachel Riley, 32, has been a firm favourite on the show since 2009 and is known for firing back on Twitter on certain occasions.

It was no different when the blonde bombshell responded to a user who made a joke about an appearance five years ago.

They posted a snap of the presenter on the show as she added a placement of tiles on the board with the letters T, W and A in place.

The social media user wrote: “@RachelRileyRR five years ago today I was screaming at the telly for the next letter to be a T.”

Rachel responded: “Weird anniversary to celebrate but OK.”

The presenter’s 593,000 followers were quick to respond, as one wrote: “This is indeed the main reason to watch Countdown, lol.”(sic)

Another person replied: “Those were the days, unfortunately I bet it would be edited now.”

While a third person quipped: “Don’t we all celebrate this…?”

Meanwhile, Rachel’s fans are hoping the star will take part on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!.

A Twitter used recently asked the mathematician if she would take part but she did not seem too eager to head into the jungle.

The social media user asked: “So when’s @RachelRileyRR going in…? #ImACeleb.”

“Not my scene,” Rachel replied.

Her followers were disappointed she wouldn’t consider appearing in the reality show with many replying to her message.

One person joked: “That shower scene with @RachelRileyRR would break all kinds of viewing records.”

However, she is prepped for is 8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown.

Taking to Instagram, Rachel posted a snap of herself and her Countdown co-star Susie Dent drinking from a large cocktail glass.

She captioned the snap: “This can only mean one thing…we’re filming Cats again!”

She finished the post with the hashtags: “#comedy, #cocktailoclock, #countdown, #catsdoescountdown #8outof10cats.”

Fans bombarded the beauty with praise as one wrote: “How wonderful!

“Two incredibly clever and talented ladies.”

Countdown airs weekdays on Channel 4 at 2.10pm.
