Money Saving Expert Martin Lewis, 46, appeared on This Morning today to share his best Black Friday 2018 findings.
After warning viewers to only buy products they were intending to purchase anyway, the Money Saving Expert advised how to make the most of the shopping extravaganza.
Martin also warned shoppers to double-check terms and conditions on deals before spending any money and not to be tempted to buy things if you can’t afford it.
He told ITV viewers: “Look, Black Friday has become the big pre-Christmas discount bonanza. Yet the most important thing to remember is it’s only a saving if you were going to buy anyway. So gird your spending loins, and decide what you want in advance and don’t be tempted otherwise.”
Martin explained how discounts come in two forms, saying: “The ones I most like are those with blanket codes or vouchers that operate across the store, as here you can usually buy what you would’ve bought anyway at a discount.
“Yet there are also one-off deals on individual items, and they are primarily there to lure you into spending on things you may not have wanted anyway.”
Here are some of Martin’s best deals:
Gap 40 percent off full price items, 25 percent off sale items
Martin revealed: “It’s online or in-store with the code BFGAP at the checkout, from now till 11.59pm on Saturday 24 November.”
Fashion retailer La Redoute 40 percent off
“It’s 40 percent off everything using the code BLACKFRIDAY online. It’s on now till 11.59pm on Monday 26 November,” the Money Saving Expert said.
“This code is great as La Redoute sells brands such as French Connection, Levi’s and Hush Puppies, which means it could work out cheaper, than going direct to that brand’s store. For example Levi’s 501 jeans are £65 at Levi’s, yet buy at La Redoute using a La Redoute code and you can get the same jeans for £50.”
Body Shop 40 percent off
Martin advised: “Go online to The Body Shop and you can get 40 percent off most full-price items when you enter the code 19805 (or show it in store) from now until 9am on Tuesday 27 November.”
Free Friday Fries at KFC
Martin also shared a way to get free chips at KFC today, adding: “Download the KFC’s free Colonel’s Club loyalty app, and on Fri 23 Nov only you can get a free regular portion of fries which are normally around £1, by showing the staff your code from the ‘your offers’ section of the app. It’s available to both new and existing app holders, and it’s available at the vast majority of KFCs.”
Selfridges 20 percent off code
“In store take this voucher, or online enter the code SELFCCE and you can get 20 percent off from now till until 11.59pm on Sun 25 Nov. Though some departments only 10 percent off.” Martin revealed,
ShopDisney (formerly The Disney Store) 20 – 50 percent off online
“Till 11.59pm Sunday 25 November go online and you can get up to 50 percent off hundreds of items – though most are around 20 percent off.” Martin said.

“Both already have ongoing deals and have flash deals too on individual items, for example Echo Dot second gen is £20 – do price compare though, as they’re not necessarily cheapest.”
Debenhams up to 50 percent off
Martin revealed the best of Debenhams’ deals, saying: “Online and in store Debenhams have an up to 50 percent off sale most departments and 15 percent off beauty, from now till Sunday 2 December. There are also ‘daily deals’ running from 6am to 11.59pm each day, which give up to 50 percent off selected items, such as specific brands or toys.
Boots 50 percent off fragrance, make up and electricals
“It launched over the past weekend (Sat 17 Nov) and Boots has said it will be running new offers through until 11.59pm on Fri 30 Nov. No code is needed, the discount is applied to products automatically,” Martin explained.
He also predicted M&S beauty may be launching some Black Friday deals, but advised viewers keep an eye out as it’s not confirmed.
