Benidorm’s Tiki Beach bar in Spain Supreme Court SHUTDOWN over ‘noisy customers’

Tiki Beach bar, a famous tourist hotspot in Benidorm along Levante Beach, has been ordered to close its doors for good.

‘s Supreme Court has now issued a full closure of the bar, due to hundreds of noise complaints from local residents.

The famous cocktail bar – popular with British tourists – has been ordered to shut its doors since October, but the owners continued to operate the premises until November.

Since April 2016, Tiki Beach bar faced a long-term dispute over alleged “noise and disturbance” with owners of the nearby Santa Margarita building.

Now, Spain’s Supreme Court have ordered a complete shutdown of the famous hotspot.

The bar owners are now in search for an alternative location further away from residential properties, with plans to reopen and operate by next year.

British customers have turned to social media to express their disappointment at the bar’s forced closure, sharing pictures of their time spent at Tiki Beach bar.

One wrote on Facebook: “Best in Beni. RIP Tiki.”

Another wrote: “Fingers crossed it is back open soon.”

On Facebook page Save Tiki Beach, one member commented: “News from the staff is they’ll close in two weeks and then reopen next year.”

Another added: “We asked the bar staff yesterday she said it shuts in about 17 days for the end of season and then re opens in February.”

One person commented on Facebook: “REALLY????? Come on you live next to one of the most noisy liveliest bars in Benidorm and you complain about noise ??? Get an apartment in Dorset not the main beach strip!”

Another wrote: “What a shame this bar is 1 of my favourite when in Benne.”

However, some commented about tourists’ unruly behaviour at the popular beach bar, explaining how customers often threw their drinks around with “glass flying” in the air.

One social media user said: “While we were there people just dropping their drinks on the floor and glass flying all over also throwing their drinks but when you haven’t got idiots there it’s just lovely to sit there with a drink and take in the views.”

Another added: “Been a long time coming. Too many drunk Brits.”
