Paul Pogba arrives at Man Utd training ground early as Mino Raiola ‘holds Juventus talks’

Pogba has spent time in Dubai this week after pulling out of the France squad with an injury.

He missed Manchester United’s last match – the defeat to Manchester City – but has shown a willingness to get back up to speed by returning to the training ground ahead of his teammates.

However Italian publication Corriere dello Sport have reported that Pogba wants out and has told his former Juventus team-mates that he wants to return to Italy.

While Tuttosport say his agent Mino Raiola is due in Turin for talks with the club over a potential move.

Pogba’s move to United, for a then world record £89m, has not been smooth.

He has struggled to show the form that he did at Juventus on a consistent basis and even winning the World Cup this summer has not justified his price tag.

Pogba has been linked with Barcelona and now Juventus and has appeared at war with manager Jose Mourinho over the last 12 months.

Problems appeared to start last January when he was hooked against Tottenham.

From there he found himself left out of the side in favour of Scott McTominay and often substituted when he did start.

This season there has been a training ground bust up and the stripping of vice captaincy duties.

But Pogba has been missed when he hasn’t played. The City game saw United steam-rolled with no leader in the middle.

Nemanja Matic, Ander Herrera and Marouane Fellaini were bypassed by City’s slick passers.

But Pogba is back at Carrington presumably to get up to speed ahead of the match with Crystal Palace this weekend.

United face the Eagles on Saturday at 3pm knowing they must pick up three points after slipping seven behind the Champions League spots.

Pogba gave an interview last week insisting he loves being back at United having left in 2012 on a free transfer.

He said: “When I came back to United, it was the best feeling ever.

“I came back home. I always dreamed of playing for United, to have many games and score goals.

“Nothing had really changed, except for maybe the team and the manager, but the rest of the club was the same.

“I just came back home, it was like I didn’t really leave – I just went on holiday! [laughs]. It was a great feeling to come back home.

“It was great to come back, to feel the air of Manchester. That has never changed.”

But whether those words are true of his current situation remains to be seen.

Juventus could test them with a bid in January or the summer if Raiola’s meeting in Turin goes well.
