LeBron James and Steph Curry claims made in huge NBA insider RANT over Wizard’s John Wall

That’s the claim of Stephen A. Smith, who has been highly critical of Wall this month.

The ESPN insider told First Take recently that he has received pictures of Wall partying at Washington club Rosebar, criticising his “off-field habits”.

Smith later blasted the situation a “disaster” and challenged Wizards president Ernie Grunfeld to “do something” about it.

The 28-year-old responded in an Instagram Live video in which he admitted attending Rosebar on Saturdays and the star is thought to have endured an increasing disconnect with his team-mates, per ESPN.

That’s with the Wizards 6-11, having improved their record by overcoming the Los Angeles Clippers earlier today.

But ESPN add that Wall fumed at coach Scott Brooks in practice last week, claiming he told Brooks: ‘F**k you’ after being told to improve his intensity.

The Wizards are open to trade offers for All-Star backcourt duo John Wall and Bradley Beal for the first time ever as they look to rebuild.

But Smith has blasted Wall yet again and insists the likes of the league’s leading stars LeBron and Curry would not be caught acting similarly.

He declared on the Stephen A. Smith Show on ESPN Radio: “You can’t be seen on video on social media drinking out of bottles in the club 24 to 36 hours before a game, particularly when you’re already presumed to be overweight. That’s just a bad look. It’s flat out stupid.

“I believe in John Wall, he’s got the pride to turn it around and intestinal fortitude to be that stud that he’s capable of being. But people out there have got to stop being so damn soft with him. When he messes up, call him on it.

“I feel sorry for the Wizards I really do, because it isn’t getting no better. This is why LeBron James is so special. This is why Steph Curry is so special.

“This is why even a Russell Westbrook is so special even though he was gone for five games, they [the Oklahoma City Thunder] win, he comes back and they lose. This is what separates the superstars from other guys. They’re the marquee, they know it and they never cheat you with effort.

“Tell me one time you looked at LeBron James in his career and said, ‘Man, he’s out of shape. He ain’t focused or dedicated.’ Take your time, I’ll wait.

“When did you say that about Kobe [Bryant]? When did you say that about Tim Duncan? About Larry Bird? About Isaiah Thomas?

“Allen Iverson should have taken better care of himself physically but when that brother stepped on to the court the first 10 or 11 years of his career, did you see him? When did you ever look at Allen Iverson and go, ‘Damn he’s out of shape.’

“It’s the one thing in professional sports you cannot do to the paying customer – it doesn’t matter that you’re in good enough shape to play.

“When they look at you and everything about you tells them you didn’t dedicate yourself to being ready to play, they’re going to have a problem with you.

“Right now that’s one of the biggest problems going on in the nation’s capital and is exactly the problem that is not going on in LA. LeBron James is in his 16th season, he just dropped 51. That’s not an accident.”

Wall had 30 points from nine-of-24 shooting, eight assists and four rebounds in the Wizards’ 125-118 win over the Clippers – though they face Eastern Conference leaders the Toronto Raptors in their next game (Saturday, 12.30am UK time).
