Kylian Mbappe AND Neymar injured with PSG vs Liverpool showdown just DAYS away

Mbappe’s injury against Uruguay looked particularly bad. The 19-year-old sensation fell awkwardly on his shoulder and was in a lot of pain before leaving the field.

Neymar looked to have pulled a groin muscle when trying to cross in Brazil’s clash with Cameroon at Stadium MK and looked distraught as he trudged off at Stadium MK.

Both were set to lineup against Liverpool in next Wednesday’s Champions League Group C clash at the Parc de Princes.

While it is not yet known exactly how serious the injuries are, the pair will have to recover quickly to stand any chance of making the game.

Neymar was holding his groin while he limped off and if it is a pulled muscle he will almost certainly miss the match.

On first glance, Mbappe’s injury looked bad but he returned to the bench in the second half to watch the action with his team-mates.

If he was to miss the Liverpool match it would be a huge blow to both the player and PSG

The World Cup winner is enjoying a superb season and is Ligue 1’s top scorer with nine goals so far in 2018-19.

His form in front of goal has gone a long way to helping Thomas Tuchel lead PSG to a 100 per cent start in the league.

Between the pair, Mbappe and Neymar have scored five of their 11 Champions League goals this season and their absence next week would do Liverpool’s chances of qualifying for the last 16 no harm.

Group C could hardly be tighter after Jurgen Klopp’s side suffered a shock 2-0 defeat by Red Star Belgrade last time out.

Their qualification hopes now hang in the balance ahead of trips to PSG and a home tie with Napoli in their final two games.

PSG are second with five points and Klopp’s Reds are second with six

Napoli are currently above Liverpool on head-to-head. Carlo Ancelotti’s side host minnows Red Star before their trip to Anfield.
