Fantastic Beasts 2: Even Ezra Miller was ‘confused’ by THAT Credence Barebone twist

When the trailer for the blockbuster was released earlier this year, fans were stunned to see that Nagini (Claudia Kim) was a human before she was Voldemort’s right-hand-snake. But that turned out to not even be the biggest shock reveal of the film.

WARNING: Spoilers for Fantastic Beasts 2 ahead.

Towards the end of the movie, Credence (Ezra Miller) learned that he is in fact named Aurelius Dumbledore – presumed brother of Albus Dumbledore.

This has sent shockwaves through the Harry Potter fandom, not least because Albus Dumbledore was examined at length in the original Potter novels and movies – with no mention of an Aurelius.

So how did the actor himself feel about such a surprising storyline rug-pull?

“I was shocked, stunned, confused, petrificus totalus with wonder and fascination,” he told Entertainment Weekly.

“And I still have a lot of questions for which I have no answers.”

Miller was also asked whether Albus knows of the existence of Aurelius – and whether he will at any point during the upcoming Fantastic Beasts films, given that Aurelius is never mentioned in the Potter stories.

“We truly do not know,” Miller said. “Jude knows. But he won’t tell you.”

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald easily topped the US box office over the weekend but did post the lowest opening gross of any film in the Wizarding World franchise.

Here in the UK, it bowed to £12.3 million – the second highest of the year so far, behind the mighty Avengers: Infinity War, which netted £21.1 million in a single weekend back in april.

Still, it’s down on the £15.3 million who caught the first film in its first days on release.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is out now.
