Amazon Echo price crash as smart speaker gets a huge new update

Amazon Echo is a hugely-popular device that comes in a number of models.

The standard Amazon Echo is available in charcoal, heather grey, sandstone and walnut finishes.

However, a stunning PRODUCT(RED) edition of the product is currently available to pre-order that will release on December 5.

Amazon Echo comes with Alexa, the firm’s virtual assistant, built right in that is capable of performing a multitude of tasks and answering a swathe of questions.

In addition to the standard model, the Amazon Echo Dot, Echo Plus, Echo Spot and Echo Show variants are all available.

And at the moment all Echo devices are currently cheaper than ever before thanks to Amazon’s Black Friday sale that is running from now until November 25.

Amazon Echo’s price crash comes as the retail giant just released a new update for the hardware that makes it more useful than ever.

Amazon recently announced it was rolling out an update to Echo owners that would allow them to make Skype calls using Alexa.

In order to enable the new functionality, users should open the Alexa application on their smartphone, or go to alexa.amazon.com to add a Skype account.

Once Echo owners have opened the app or webpage, they should head to menu > settings > communication.

Then they should press the option to add a Skype account that will present a sign-in page.

Once Skype has been linked, Echo owners can then summon Alexa to make calls.

The new update is being released in the US, UK, India, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada.

Amazon has insisted it is “starting” to rollout the new feature, meaning if your Echo has not received the addition you will have to wait patiently until it arrives.
