Arsenal news: Man Utd one of TWO Premier League rivals at front of queue for Aaron Ramsey

Ramsey is facing the prospect of leaving the Gunners at the end of the season after being told he would not be offered a new contract.

But the Wales international is not short of suitors with clubs from all over Europe interested in getting him on board.

Bayern Munich were last week reported to have won the race to secure Ramsey’s signature, with the Bundesliga giants able to announce a deal in January.

However, it appears a move to Germany might not be on the cards with United and Liverpool sniffing around the 27-year-old Arsenal ace.

According to Bleacher Report, sources close to Ramsey suggest talk of a switch to Bayern is premature.

Ramsey is open to the prospect of calling time on his career in the Premier League altogether.

And, with Bayern, Real Madrid, AC Milan and Juventus, he has plenty of options on the continent.

Manchester United and Liverpool, though, will not let the chance to snap up Ramsey on a free pass them by without a fight.

The Cardiff academy graduate is a top level midfielder who qualifies as homegrown.

And, with an onus to have domestic products in their Premier League squads, being able to grab Ramsey is enticing.

Bleacher Report reckon United and Liverpool have stolen a march on the likes of Chelsea, who Express Sport understand like the look of Ramsey.

Old Trafford or Anfield are supposedly his most probable landing spots should he ignore foreign advances and stay in England once he leaves the Emirates.

Meanwhile, former Chelsea and Aston Villa forward Tony Cascarino, believes Ramsey is set to be let go of by Arsenal because he is not central to Unai Emery’s plans.

“That would tell me that the manager has had to have stepped in on negotiations,” Cascarino said, when asked about Arsenal withdrawing their offer to Ramsey.

“The obvious conversation is the club say to him: ‘Where is your standing on Aaron Ramsey?’

“‘[Emery says:] He’s not going to play, he’s not going to be in my first team, I’ll use him as a sub.’

“They’ll then have to rethink and say: ‘Well if he’s just going to be a sub and coming off the bench and being in and out the team, we can’t offer him that amount of money.'”

Ramsey will be hoping to figure on Sunday when Arsenal take on Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.
