Cristiano Ronaldo news: Lionel Messi dubbed superior, Juventus reunion, Real Madrid shock

Lionel Messi dubbed superior

Atletico Madrid star Juanfran believes Barcelona’s Messi is superior to Cristiano Ronaldo.

And that is because he feels the Argentina forward is capable of more than the Juventus talisman.

“For me, Messi is the best, I’ve always said it,” he said.

“He and Cristiano have marked differences, but Leo has always had a little more. I respect him very much.”

Given how Ronaldo has cost Atletico Madrid two Champions League finals, the Spaniard may well be reluctant to praise him.

Juventus reunion

Juventus would love to reunite Ronaldo and Marco Asensio, it has been claimed.

Asensio has struggled at Real Madrid this season at a time where many expected the Spain international to step it up.

And Italian newspaper Tuttosport say Juventus are eager to land the wing wizard.

It is claimed that, with the player experiencing a difficult time in his homeland, the Serie A giants are hopeful of a deal.

But whether he jumps ship remains to be seen.

Real Madrid shock

Andre Villas-Boas has admitted he was shocked by Ronaldo’s decision to quit Real Madrid back in the summer.

The former Porto, Chelsea and Tottenham manager said: “It totally surprised me.

“How do you sell Cristiano for 100 million? It does not make sense from any point of view: neither sport nor economic.

“Congratulations to Juventus for the blow they were able to make.”
