Look what Virgil van Dijk has done in Netherlands training: Liverpool fans will LOVE this

Van Dijk linked up with the Netherlands squad earlier this week ahead of their Nations League clash with Belgium tomorrow.

And the Dutchman has been looking pretty impressive during their training sessions this week.

In a video posted on social media, a ball can be seen hanging from the ceiling as Van Dijk runs towards it.

The 27-year-old ace then launches himself into the air, heading the ball.

And his team-mates could only look on in awe at Van Dijk’s impressive leap.

Dutchman Van Dijk joined Liverpool earlier this summer in a whopping £75million move from Southampton.

Van Dijk has established himself as a key cog in Liverpool’s defence, helping Jurgen Klopp’s side reach the Champions League final last season.

And his impressive form continued into the new season with Liverpool conceding just five goals so far this term as the Reds continue their unbeaten run.

But his playing style came under fire from Netherlands boss Ronald Koeman following their defeta to France last month.

“I told Virgil within 30 seconds of the end of the game against France what I thought,” Koeman said.

“I know him so well – and that means I know where all his little faults are.

“Virgil has to improve, not a lot, but sometimes he is a little too laid-back.

“That needs to change. There are moments as a defender when you should be no more than three feet away from the striker you are marking.

“And, particularly in Van Dijk’s case, because of the strength and power he has he is too laid-back.”

However, Van Dijk insists Koeman’s comments have not affected him.

“No, it does not bother me at all,” he said in an interview with Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf.

“There are times when I am less sharp. I work on that and I get help from coaches and fellow players.

“It happens to many players, but it’s about whether those moments are punished.”
