Carol Vorderman jokingly claimed she was “sick” as she posted a picture of her hot drink in view of her 20,000 Instagram followers.
The Countdown favourite spoke of her “own code of life”, which she had broken just minutes earlier.
The 57-year-old joked around with fellow users after she revealed what she was drinking from an “I [heart] TEA” mug.
However, it was what the presenter had filled it up with which she seemed to regret, with many agreeing with her.
Carol commented: “I have just broken my own ‘Code of Life’… coffee in an ‘I [heart] TEA’ mug?”
The mother-of-two then quipped light-heartedly: “What kind of sickness has overcome me?”
She remained out of shot, which has since been liked more than 160 likes, with the focus solely on her beverage.
Two people quickly commented: “It’s a sign of mixing with the wrong crowd…” and: “Tea in that mug will never taste the same again. What have you done @carolvorders!”
“Hang your head in shame Vorders! Whatever next? Pasta in a soup bowl! Anarchy…” a third joked.
Others replied: “Are you trying to cause a tear in the time-space continuum?” and: “Absolutely outrageous I tell you. A pint glass would have been better.”
Someone suggested she get an “I [heart] COFFEE” mug too to match her tea version.
But she wrote back: “#CoffeeInTeaMugCrisis… this has confused me… I need a lie down.”
It came just hours after she shared a snippet of her shoot for the Celebrity Juice festive special.
There was no sign of the regular stars in the image, but she was joined by Jimmy Carr as they sported fancy dress.
“’Spit Spot… In every job that must be done, there’s an element of fun…’” she said, quoting the character she was challenging: Mary Poppins.
Carol added: “@celebjuiceofficial Christmas special… with whatsisname… the Carr bloke… no not @chattyman… the other one xx.”
Sporting a flower-adorned black hat, she looked just liked the world’s most famous nanny in a ruffled blouse and red tie.
Earlier this week, Carol Vorderman caused a stir when she showed off her darker ‘do and tight leather.
The TV regular, who rose to fame thanks to the Channel 4 show, flaunted her assets in a studded biker-style jacket.
She also revealed her brunette hair, after recently ditching her blonde look and reverting back to her roots.
