Rockstar NEWS: Red Dead 2 Online release date latest, Awards, GTA Online update

Red Dead Redemption 2 developer Rockstar has been given some good news this week, after being nominated for multiple awards.

The Game Awards 2018 take place on December 6 in the US and the early hours of December 7 in the UK.

And despite launching just a few weeks ago and with Red Dead 2 Online yet to land, Rockstar’s latest release has received lots of nominations.

Red Dead 2 is up for Best Narrative, Best Direction, Best Art Direction, Best Score, Best Audio Design, Best Action Adventure and Game of the Year.

Roger Clark is also up for Best Performance for his portryal of Arthur Morgan in the game.

With the game earning a massive 97% score on Metacritic, Rockstar can be confident of taking home an award or two during the event.

Red Dead 2 Online’s release date has been narrowed down by Take-Two.

Company head Strauss Zelnick recently told investors that fans will have to wait a little longer for Red Dead 2 Online.

Giving players enough time to fully complete the story and finish any side quests, Rockstar is said to be planning to release Red Dead Redemption 2 Online at the end of November.

Zelnick said: “It’s way too early to talk about Red Dead Redemption 2 Online, it hasn’t released yet.

“It will launch in public beta towards the end of the month and Rockstar will have a lot more to say about it. We’re not making any current predictions.”

Zelnick was also asked about a possible PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2.

“In terms of ongoing releases, Rockstar will talk about what their intentions are going forward with regard to all upcoming products and that the same would hold true for platform,” he said.

“So, in this particular instance, I can’t really give you too much clarity, apologies.”

Red Dead 2 Online may be on the horizon, but that doesn’t mean Rockstar is finished with GTA 5 Online.

The latest GTA Online update is good news for Import/Export CEOs, as Rockstar introduces a selection of discounts.

“It’s good to be on top,” reads a Rockstar post. “CEOs benefit this week from 50% Bonus GTA$ on Import/Export Sell Missions in GTA Online, and also score a 50% discount on Special Cargo Crates.

“And everyone from the C-Suite to the hoi polloi can glide through psychedelic tunnels in the Deluxo or storm Fort Zancudo in the Ruiner 2000 by firing up any Rockstar Special Vehicle Race or Special Vehicle Work mission to earn Double GTA$ & RP all week long.

“Terrorbyte owners can put their special talents to use with double rewards on Client Jobs while Gunrunners can load up any Weaponized Vehicle Mission from their MOC to reap bonus cash and RP through November 19th.”

Hopefully GTA Online fans can expect more bonuses, boosts and discounts leading up to Christmas.
