LeBron James: Lakers superstar MOCKED for saying this – It is classic LeBron

That’s the opinion of Fox Sports analyst Doug Gottlieb, who claims James’ recent comments were ‘classic LeBron’.

The Lakers have picked up form recently, winning three on the bounce after a slow start to the season.

At one stage they were 2-5 with serious concerns over whether Luke Walton was the right man for the job and if this roster would work together.

Lakers president of basketball operations Magic Johnson held a heated meeting with Walton regarding the Lakers’ poor start.

And James admitted this week that he was close to breaking point earlier this month regarding his team’s poor form.

He raised eyebrows after a close loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves when he warned his team-mates not to be near him “when my patience runs out”.

But Gottlieb couldn’t help but roll his eyes at James’ comments.

“LeBron loves that attention,” Gottlieb said on The Herd.

“I do think he’s trying to fit into this system. I do think he’s trying to move the basketball and trying to play as though he’s the alpha.

“They want him to be LeBron and take over. He’s trying to do what Luke wants and run these sets and be a good team-mate so I think some of that is really hard when you’ve been an alpha… that’s hard.

“I also think that this is classic LeBron, like really you were cracking, really? There was so much frustration you thought about what? Giving up? Not showing up for work and just saying to heck with it and packing back to Cleveland.

“Do I think it’s a little bit harder? Sure. He’s also 34 years old, it’s going to be harder.

“He’s player for a coach that hasn’t won a championship. He’s playing with guys that the young guys haven’t played in a meaningful basketball game.

“Lance Stephenson is more interested in doing the spin after he shoots the basketball, assuming it’s going to go in than actually taking and making good shots.

“All of that said, I think most of us rolled our eyes when we heard that from LeBron James.”
