Best smartphone and gadgets of the year REVEALED at Pocket-lint awards 2018

The yearly Pocket-lint awards have just taken place at a glitzy event in London with the gadget website crowning its favourite gizmos of the year.

It’s been a hugely competitive year in the world of tech with the rise of more impressive budget smartphones, improvements to wearable technology and more smart devices arriving in our homes.

A panel of top judges and experts spent hours deliberating over which products deserved a coveted gong and place on your Christmas wishlist.

And the device that has impressed the most in 2018 is Huawei’s P20 Pro.

This smartphone impressed the panel with its incredible triple camera, huge battery and glorious screen making it the best smartphone of the year and also Pocket-lint’s gadget of the year.

Speaking about the rise of the P20 Pro, Stuart Miles, founder of Pocket-lint said: “The awards this year really show the huge ground Huawei has made over the last years from being a brand that was virtually unheard of in the UK to a company that is winning this year’s EE Pocket-lint Gadget Awards Product of the Year.

Prizes also went to went to the Apple Watch Series 4, Sky Q and Sony’s brilliant WH-1000XM3 which are officially the world’s best headphones.

Other products that took the top spots included the Sonos Beam, Apple iPad, Google Home and the FitBit Versa.
