Stan Lee Avengers 4 cameo: Did Marvel legend film his appearance before his death?

The iconic Marvel Comics legend is responsible for many superheroes that have become part of history, and he also helped to work on many more. Recently he has also been cameoing in multiple Marvel movies, including appearances in everything in the MCU.

Given that Avengers 4, due for release next year, had recently wrapped filming; fans have been wondering if he completed a cameo for it before his passing.

It seems that yes, he did.

Speaking last year Joe Russo implied that it’s been on camera for a long time now, and was made at around the same time he filmed his Ant-Man and the Wasp cameo.

“So, Stan, typically we try to get him out — he doesn’t love to fly — so we try to get him out for his cameos around the same time,” he told the BBC earlier this year.

“So if we have other movies shooting on the same lot that we’re on, for instance Ant-Man 2 or Avengers 4, we group his cameos together and then move him from one set to the next and kind of get him through his cameos in one day.”

As for Captain Marvel and Spider-Man Far From Home, it remains to be seen whether Lee filmed appearances.

Both of them were made earlier this year, while Stan has been battling ill-health.

Lee’s cause of death is currently unknown, but he had announced earlier this year that he was struggling with pneumonia.

Tributes have been pouring in online, with Seth Rogan saying: “Thank you Stan Lee for making people who feel different realize they are special.”

Lee has been trending top on Twitter, with his catchphrase – Excelsior – also being shared widely.
