Pep Guardiola RANTS at Raheem Sterling on pitch after Man City beat Man Utd

Manchester City swept aside a resurgent Manchester United with a convincing display and goals from David Silva, Sergio Aguero and Ilkay Gundogan.

With the win in the bag, Raheem Sterling spent some of the closing period showboating in possession with a couple of stepovers.

Although the small show of fanciness was harmless and geed up the City fans, Guardiola clearly took exception to it.

After the final whistle, instead of celebrating a convincing derby victory, the Spanish manager stormed onto the field in pursuit of Sterling.

After finding his talented winger, Guardiola unleashed a passionate tirade on him, grabbing and pointing at Sterling.

The reason behind his rant was presumably because of the small exhibition of showboating Sterling displayed.

The England international had not given the ball away in his flamboyance, however, and actually earned a corner.

Guardiola’s rant evoked memories of his tirade against Southampton winger Nathan Redmond last year, when the opposition player ironically received some choice words from Guardiola for trying to time waste.

Fans of both United and City took to Twitter after the game to weigh in on the incident.

“This is why Pep Guardiola is the best coach in the world,” @bradynewstead argued.

“Because even after a great win he still has that desire to tell Sterling what he could do better.”

Another viewer felt Guardiola’s tactile message was a bit excessive.

“Sterling would’ve been well within his rights to push Guardiola off there,” @RowdenJRSG argued.

“Have a quiet word if you want, no need to put his hands all over Raheem like that.”

Sterling was the subject of blame from one angry United fan, however, @ErvinFidellis writing: “Thanks Sterling for proving my point that you have no sportsmanship whatsoever.

“Even Guardiola went to tell Sterling what he did was wrong.”
