‘Tony Bellew DIED tonight’ – Bellew makes shock revelation after Usyk loss

Bellew was beaten by Oleksandr Usyk at Manchester Arena on Saturday night in a battle for the undisputed cruiserweight championship of the world.

The Ukrainian inflicted Bellew’s third loss of his career with a stunning eighth-round knockout.

The Brit was always going to retire after the fight, no matter what the result, though hoped to go out on a high.

Bellew will go down as one of the greats of British boxing having previously been cruiserweight world champion.

He also beat David Haye twice in epic heavyweight clashes before dropping down a weight again to take on Usyk.

And Bellew revealed that he will no longer be Tony Bellew with his alter-ego now gone forever.

“My career’s over,” Bellew said.

“You guys have always called me Tony Bellew, I only created the name Tony Bellew to make my old fella proud.

“My name’s Anthony Bellew. I’m Tony when I turn up and these cameras are here.

“I’ve never been Tony Bellew, I’m Anthony. Everyone who truly knows me calls me Anthony.

“My father’s never called me Tony in my life. My wife does to take the p**s sometimes but I know she’s taking the p**s then.

“No one who really knows me calls me Tony.

“Tonight it’s over. Tony Bellew died tonight.

“Anthony Bellew is back alive. That little b*****d who was expelled from school.

“I want reality back and a normal life. I will find it because I will stay out the way for a good 12 months.”

Bellew ends his career having won 30 of his 34 fights with three defeats and one draw.
