Sam Hyde: GRAPHIC pictures of ‘GROTESQUE’ eye injury on Bellew vs Uysk undercard

Sam Hyde suffered a nasty eye injury during his showdown with Richard Riakporhe on the Tony Bellew vs Oleksandr Uysk undercard.

The 25-year-old was stopped by TKO in the eighth round after a heavy right hand shot from Riakporhe.

Hyde remained on his feet after sustaining the massive blow, but the swelling quickly closed up his eye, leaving the fight as good as over.

The towel quickly followed before Hyde paraded his war wounds around the ring, applauding the fans.

Hyde looked to be in control of the fight, and was set to be crowned victorious after appearing to dominate most rounds.

However, once Riakporhe landed the strike on his opponent’s right eye, there was only ever going to be one victor.

Hyde attempted to carry on, swinging a few shots back at Riakporhe before entering defensive mode to avoid further damage.

The Sky Sports commentators described the injury as ‘grotesque’ as the fight drew to a close.
