Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp could be set to ring the changes when the Reds return to Premier League action against Fulham this weekend.
Klopp’s side slipped to a shock 2-0 defeat in their Champions League clash with Red Star Belgrade in midweek and the German boss will be looking for a response.
However, Liverpool are struggling with several injuries as their hectic schedule begins to take its toll with both Joe Gomez and Trent Alexander-Arnold doubtful against the Cottagers.
Alexander-Arnold managed just 45 minutes against Red Star due to injury, although the extent of the problem has not yet been revealed.
Gomez replaced the 20-year-old during the defeat but has been nursing an Achilles injury.
This could open the door for Nathaniel Clyne to come in, although the England international has been struck by illness recently.
Dejan Lovren was also ruled out against Red Star with a similar problem, adding to Liverpool’s injury problems at the back.
Meanwhile, Jordan Henderson is targeting a return from a hamstring injury against Fulham while Naby Keita was fit enough to make the bench in Serbia and could start at Anfield.
Fabinho, James Milner and Georginio Wijnaldum are also options with the Reds boasting plenty of depth in midfield.
Bottom club Fulham are yet to keep a clean sheet this season so Klopp is expected to forego his favoured 4-3-3 for an even more adventurous 4-2-3-1.
This would mean Xherdan Shaqiri could start out wide, having been left at home for the latest Champions League match due to political/personal reasons.
Either Mohamed Salah or Roberto Firmino could play as the most advanced attacker in this fluid system while Sadio Mane will operate from the left wing.
