Donald Trump 2020 campaign: Will Trump win in 2020? Who will run for the Democrats?

Mr Trump has confirmed in many speeches he will be running in the 2020 presidential race. His slogan will reportedly change from “Make America Great Again” to “Keep America Great” in his next campaign. And Mr Trump said during a press conference Vice President Mike Pence will be his “running mate” in 2020 too. But following the Democrats’ success in the midterm elections this week, he may have a fight on his hands to ensure he remains president.

Who would run for the Democrats?

Joe Biden

If the former popular vice-president wins, he will turn 80 during his first term as president.

He said in his autobiography last year he would have challenged Hilary Clinton in the 2016 election, but he had to deal with the tragic death of his 46-year-old son Beau Biden.

Bernie Sanders

Bernie will be 79-years-old on the next inauguration day.

However, Mr Sanders is very popular among democrats and in the 2016 election, he inspired a wave of young voters to become interested in politics.

Elizabeth Warren

Ms Warren was re-elected as the Massachusetts Senator on Tuesday and may well have her eye on the presidential race in two years’ time.

The 69-year-old was criticised recently when she ordered a DNA test to prove she was a 64th Native American.

Kamala Harris

The Senate of California is the top candidate among the bookies, as she is said to be popular with young voters and women.

Beto O’Rourke

He was defeated in the midterms by Republican Ted Cruz.

But the 46-year-old is well-liked and was the only Democrat in 30 years to get close to claiming Texas.

Kirsten Gillibrand

The lawyer and senator from New York has always been a strong opponent of Mr Trump.

She is known as a conservative Democrat, but has turned to the left for her views on gun control and immigration.

Cory Booker

The African American junior Senator from New Jersey has impressed audiences with his speeches about love not hate.
