Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S9 ultimate rival as Samsung may reveal most radical phone TODAY

Developers Conference begins later today and it could offer a first look at one of the most exciting smartphones in years.

There’s been plenty of talk of the Korean firm’s plans to unveil a foldable device and it appears a launch could be imminent.

The CEO of Samsung’s mobile division, DJ Koh, previously “hinted” the tech company could finally lift the lid on a foldable phone at its developer event which is taking place in San Francisco.

And a recent post of social media has added fuel to the fire with an image of a folded Samsung logo being pushed out on Samsung’s Facebook and Twitter channels.

Although the hardware remains under wraps, Bloomberg, citing people “familiar with the matter”, insisted Samsung has been working with Google to create a “special version” of Android that will run on the smartphone.

However, a source has said it is “unlikely” a physical model of the bendable device will be revealed this week with a detailed conceptual image being shown off instead.

Little is known about the full specs and features of this new Galaxy phone which is thought to be called the X.

Rumours have suggested the device will include a giant 7.29-inch screen which will fold in half.

Screen technology has already been revealed that allows displays to be rolled with earlier this year.

This latest 65-inch telly has the ability to roll up like a sheet of paper – meaning it can easily disappear inside a small box positioned beneath the set.

Incredibly, LG says this new TV even features OLED 4K technology which will allow consumers to watch content in this ultimate high definition format.

By introducing this concept to a smartphone, Samsung could create a tablet style experience that’s small enough to fit in your pocket.

If Samsung does reveal a early look at today’s conference it’s likely an official unveiling could take place at CES.

The yearly tech show takes place in Las Vegas from January 8 and is often used by firms to showcase TVs and screen technology.

We will hopefully find out more about the Galaxy X later today but don’t expect this device to be cheap.

Rumours suggest Samsung could place a price of over £1,300 on this new phone.

Samsung’s developer conference is taking place from November 7 to November 8 in San Francisco and Express.co.uk will bring you all the news live as it happens.
