Faye Tozer: Strictly Come Dancing star reveals INJURIES after training with Giovanni

The 42-year-old Strictly Come Dancing favourite met her beau, with whom she shares nine-year-old son Benjamin, in 2007 and they tied the knot two years later.

Speaking out about the gruelling physical nature of the show, Faye told this week’s OK! Magazine: “I’m 43 soon and I’m working my body so hard. If you roll around on the floor 20 times a day, you’re going to get bruises.”

“I have them on my hips, my elbows, knees and bum!”

“It looks like she’s been attacked,” Michael chipped in, addressing the toll the dance training has taken on his famous wife. “The bruises are ridiculous.

“Faye puts 100 per cent into it — she doesn’t do anything by halves,” he praised.

Faye went on to gush about her partner Giovanni Pernice, 28, praising him as a professional dancer.

“I love him,” she told the publication. “He’s so determined.

“He’s a real competitor and knows the show inside out. He’s such an amazing choreographer and he takes risks.

“He doesn’t get a day off,” she continued. “There’s so much pressure on the pros and they make us feel so welcome and like we can achieve anything.”

Faye also said she has grown in confidence working with Giovanni, adding: “Giovanni has confidence enough for both of us!”

At the weekend, Faye and Giovanni wowed the Strictly judges once again with their stylish Tango, scoring a massive 38 points and coming second on the leaderboard.

The week before, the Halloween special saw them just one mark shy of a perfect 40, tying for first place with Ashley Roberts, 37, and her parter Pasha Kovalev, 38.

She previously scooped the top spot after dazzling the panel and viewers with her sensational Grease-themed Quickstep in Movie Week.

On Saturday night, the pair were praised for their sizzling Tango performance, with Darcey Bussell, 49, announcing she was “in love” as she praised Faye’s “clipped changes” and precision.

“Phenomenal moments, lots of splashes of colour,” Shirley Ballas, 57, said, while Bruno Tonioli, 62, jokes the routine was “tighter that Craig’s girdle”.

Giovanni’s previous celebrity partner Debbie McGee, 60, was also impressed with the dance, opening up about finally meeting her successor on her BBC Radio Berkshire show yesterday.

“I went back to Strictly last night and I had he most amazing time,” she said. “It was so lovely to see everybody and they were all telling me they miss me, and I miss them too.

“And, of course, to be reunited with my lovely Giovanni Pernice,” she continued. “And I got to meet his new partner Faye, who I think is absolutely wonderful and she’s so lovely”.

Debbie said she was “absolutely rooting” for Faye and Giovanni with their Tango.

Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday at 7pm on BBC One.
